ADVANCED GUITAR PLAYER and the BARCELONA OPEN MIC Project
I'm Back Playing The Guitar Again!
Much to my surprise, I'm back playing the guitar almost full time again so I've set up a website to accompany my musical projects at www.advancedguitarplayer.com
Everything started following a trip to Paris, London and Nottingham to celebrate my fiftieth birthday - I played at an Open Mic in Paris, did some recording in Canterbury and played at a Folk Club in Newark. All of a sudden my confidence was back and I vowed to set up an Open Mic in Barcelona, so I'd get the chance to play in a reasonably relaxed environment.
So Barcelona Micro Abierto was born at Com A Casa in La Sagrera in early April 2010 - we soon had a good group of musicians and started getting reviews in the media. I was soon invited to join groups and ended up getting asked to do session work.
The Advanced Guitar Player website is just an attempt to share some of my knowledge - most of the material comes from the set lists I'm working on at any given time. Most of it is for Intermediate Guitar but the Advanced Guitarist should find plenty of interesting material simply because my choice is so eclectic and varied.
